| A range of plastisols and technology of their production are offered
Plastisols are defined as dispersions of a special PVC grade in plasticizer. They contain also certain additives, which give the plastisol specific properties depending on applications. At ordinary temperatures plastisol is a liquid or paste, possessing certain rheological properties stable within a long period. At heating plastisol becomes a monolite material with perfect physical and mechanical properties, high electric resistance and chemical resistance. Plastisols are widely used in the machine-building , especially in the automotive industry, where they are used for applying anticorrosive and antinoise coatings on a floorpan and sealing welds before painting. Plastisols are used as joining and structural members in production of oil and air filters. In the construction materials field the use of plastisols layers on floor coverings allows to form both porous and external wear resistant layers. In the food industry plastisols are used for applying a sealing rings on tops of cans and bottle corks. Protective gloves of various types including those on a knitted base are made of plastisols.

Process characteristics
The offered process is characterised by a low effluents in the air and absence of waste water.
The main raw materials belong to the moderate hazard class. The quantity of easily flammable liquids used in production is insignificant, explosive substances are not used.
Material losses are not high, for preliminary evaluation the maximum value of losses about 10-20 kg per 1 mt of the finishes product can be taken.
Power consumption can be determined only for a certain production capacity.
Technological flexibility allows to produce new grades of plastisol within the offered process, as well as to modify existing grades in order to adapt them to customer's specifications.
Information about Developer
Developer of the process is V.A.Kargin Polymer Research Institute. V.A.Kargin Institute has a 40-years experience in the field of chemistry and technology of polyvinylchloride , including 25-years experience in the sphere of Plastisols. It is the leading scientific research institution in the field of PVC in the Russian Federation (and earlier in the USSR). Fundamental investigations of plastisols comprehensively describing the process of production of this group of polyvinylchloride materials, their properties and behaviour at processing by different methods were conducted in V.A.Kargin Institute. Based on these investigation there was formed a know-how, which the Institute possesses in the sphere of plastisol production and processing. More than 30 types of plastisols of various application , including materials for the automotive industry, food and light industry were developed in V.A.Kargin Institute. All developments were verified at the Institute's pilot-production plant. Main developments in this sphere have been realised on industrial scale.
