SCIENTIFIC  POTENTIAL  AND  THE  STRUCTURE OF  THE  INSTITUTE

At the present moment 880 people work at the Institute, 5 of them are Doctors of Sciences and 43 of them are Candidates of Sciences. The Institute raised 15 Doctors of Sciences and more than 120 Candidates of Sciences. 11 specialists of the Institute were honoured with the title of Laureates of State Prize and the USSR Council of Ministers Prize. The Institute has more than 1200 authors' certificates and patents.

The Institute consists of two main structural parts:

• R & D department;
• pilot-plant manufacturing small-scale science based chemical products.

The RESEARCH DEPARTMENT consists of 12 laboratories, located in three buildings, the total area of which is 6583 m2. Technological laboratories work in the following directions:

• organic synthesis;
• polymerization;
• processing of polymers.

They are correspondingly equipped and supplied with stands.

Laboratories of physical-chemical and analytical investigations, physical-mechanical testing are equipped with a set of modern instruments: nuclear magnetic resonance, electron paramagnetic resonance, chromatomass- spectrometer , electron microscopes , UV- and IR - spectrophotometers, gas-liquid and gel-penetrating chromatographs , instruments of X-ray analysis, equipment for physical-mechanical testing, climate chamber and others.

PILOT - PLANT consists of 4 technological and 4 auxiliary shops with working area 27090 m2.

Technological shops of ( monomers, organic glass, polyvinylchloride and its processing anaerobic sealants, adhesives ) are intended for mastering of new technological processes and manufacturing products meant for selling.

Experimental base of the Institute includes a set of unique installations.

Design of new experimental industrial installations and product lines is fulfilled by the design department which has a licensed right to carry out design works for all organizations.

Production of non-standard equipment, assembly of new and reconstruction of working installations are fulfilled by the workers of the electrical repair shop and instrumentation and automation shop.

Transportation of the Institute products is fulfilled by the motor transport shop. The goods can be dispatched by rail, water, air.

Work at account documents is carried out by the computational centre supplied with modern equipment and personal computers.

So, the present technical material recourses of the Institute allow to fulfil the whole spectrum of works: from development up to organization of manufacture of new types of products:

• R & D works
• experimental technological works and design
• construction of installations and organization of production.
